Announcing the Opening of the “Diploma in International Studies” Course
The Department of Political Science and International Relations under the Faculty of Political Science, Myanmar Spring University, led by distinguished professors and lecturers from abroad, has opened a Diploma in International Studies course with the aim of providing continuous education to all citizens who wish to acquire political knowledge during the interim period.
Subjects to be studied

Semester I

 DISMNOU 1001 - Introduction to International Relations 

နိုင်ငံတကာဆက်ဆံရေးပညာနိဒါန်း

 DISMNOU 1002 - Theories of International Relations  

နိုင်ငံတကာ ဆက်ဆံရေးဆိုင်ရာ သီအိုရီများ

 DISMNOU 1003 - Governments and Politics of Myanmar‘s Neighboring Countries 

မြန်မာ့ အိမ်နီးချင်းနိုင်ငံများ၏ အုပ်ချုပ်ရေး နှင့် နိုင်ငံရေးလေ့လာသုံးသပ်မှုပညာရပ်

• DISMNOU 1004 –Foreign Policy and Diplomacy

Semester II 

• DISMNOU 1005 Current Issues in IR

Teaching Method
❖ Teaching using Zoom Application
❖ Reference books, lesson videos, lesson information, and assessment questions are uploaded to Google Classroom in real time
❖ Special Talks are planned by inviting Guest Speakers
Course Assessment Method
❖ Depending on the instructor, various assessment methods such as class attendance, class participation, paper writing, and group/individual presentation will be used.

Eligible candidates

CDM high school graduates, Matriculation and BECA graduates, GED/IGCSE graduates equivalent to Matriculation

CDM university graduates

CDM faculty/staff and interested candidates

As this is the first batch, only (100) participants will be accepted.

Learning outcomes

• Ability to understand and analyze key concepts, frameworks and basic theories of international relations,

• Ability to evaluate the functions and roles of international economic, political and social institutions,

• Ability to analyze contemporary global challenges and examine their geopolitical and economic implications,

• Be able to compare and analyze the governmental structures, political processes, and foreign policy choices of neighboring countries, including Myanmar.
• Be able to use the concepts of international studies to discuss and present contemporary world issues with critical thinking and reasoning.
Tuition Fees
• 120,000 Kyats per student (first and second semesters combined).
Course Registration
✓ Interested candidates who are interested in attending this diploma course must fill out the Google Form https://edu.nugmyanmar.org/DISregisterform
by 03-02-2026 (Tuesday).

✓ Those who are eligible to attend will be notified via email via the Google Form.
✓ To request a letter of recommendation,
1) A letter of recommendation can be obtained from a CDM teacher or staff member stating that they are a CDM student.
2) A letter of recommendation from a CDM member stating that they have no direct involvement/support with a terrorist group.
3) A letter of recommendation from the relevant department can be submitted to prove that they are a CDM student (dismissal letter, recognition letter).
4) A letter of recommendation from the relevant department can be submitted if they are a contributor to a department of the National Unity Government.
10 outstanding students (10% of the total number of students) who are interested but have difficulty paying tuition fees will be granted a tuition fee waiver.

The first (5%) of those who apply will be granted a tuition fee waiver.

(Note - CDM staff and students will be given priority)
The remaining (5%) will be refunded to the students with the highest scores after the completion of the course.
(Note - There is no restriction)
*** IR BA MA, DIR degree holders, IR Undergraduate Degree holders at MNOU are not required to apply. ***
