Capacity-Building Training to Integrate Social Cohesion into Administrative Functions
Jan 30, 2026
The Kayah Youth Organization (KwYO) conducted capacity-building trainings to support the integration of social cohesion into administrative functions. The objective of these trainings was to strengthen trust and cooperation among administrative bodies; enhance the ability to coordinate across ethnic, religious, and cultural differences; promote accountability and transparency; ensure that decision-making prioritizes public interests; reduce discrimination within communities; promote equal participation opportunities for women and minority groups; and improve leadership skills, division of responsibilities, and management capacity of administrative bodies so that they can function in a more systematic and effective manner.
With these objectives, a three-day training was conducted six times in six locations in the western part of Hpruso Township.
Participants included youth leaders from various villages, individuals holding administrative responsibilities, and members of internally displaced persons (IDP) committees. In total, 174 participants received administrative-related training.
The training covered topics such as Social Cohesion, Conflict Sensitivity and Conflict Resolution, and Good Governance, and was delivered through interactive discussions and participatory learning sessions.
